how much is wasted in worrying about entirely stupid things.
3 or 4 hours this afternoon browsing craigslist looking
at apartments. it is very frustrating.

oh my god. j and i spent the whole day doing that too and i've just said firmly: "I need to stop. I have other things I'd like to do today."
Sigh.
Let us all be moved already.

yes.
i'm finding it very dismal to look at rentals. i look every day and there is nothing in our price range that seems livable. i'm trying to compromise but it seems that anything remotely *close* to being large enough for us is at least $200 more per month than we can afford.

it's very very frustrating to waste so much time doing this stuff. i also have to spend lots of time soon trying to figure out how to deal with my insurance claim from the accident. they should give me money to compensate me for having to spend time doing this for an accident that wasn't even my fault.

GRRR.

good luck to you!

i know? you must be so stressed out.
the only ones i find that i really love are up int he mountains, so it's totally unreal to imagine i'd ride my bike down the mountainside to an rtd stop and rail in to school. maybe one day we'll actually live somewhere nice.

i guess we'll find something, part of my stupid problem is i look too early.

I'm having the same dilema. Finding an apt online is like going around in circles until you puke.

I'm in the NYC area, but a friend of mine found his apartment by actually posting an ad on craigslist listing his requirements and had people contact him. He found a place in a good part of town, within his price range, and without a broker's fee.

Try posting an ad, you'll probably get some brokers, but you may get a "mom and pop" deal. Good luck!

yes i did a couple times but nothing yet... i will keep trying tho cause maybe something will turn up.

i really don't want an apartment building or to pay pent rent or application fees for more than one person (WHAT is it with this stuff, even in LA one person was enough, i just don't want to spend 50-80 bucks everytime we apply for a place, or pay a monthly pet fee for a cat, so many places in denver seem to charge this), so that knocks out like 85% of what there is in the neighborhoods i want. maybe i'm impractical.

Practically every place in Bloomington charges a pet rent; when a beau lived with me, they didn't up the rent, but as soon as I got a kit, they did. What the hell-- how is she supposed to make money?

Apparently this is becoming more widespread, too. Blech.
