i watched this doc on netflix watch it now
called crazy-love about burt and linda
pugach. i didn't really read the description
before i watched it so i was fascinated
by this odd looking woman with bizarre hair
and sunglasses, and i couldn't figure out what
was up with her wearing them. but then...
it gets pretty horrifying and unbelievable.
anyhow it was really interesting. if you
are into weird old people. Amargosa is
likewise an excellent doc about a lovely old
woman which you can watch-it-now. she has
an opera house in death valley and dances ballet!
and you can go stay there!

I heard an interview with Amargosa a while ago; she was talking about how she's bringing culture to the area, writing and performing a new show every year.

i went to amargosa two weeks ago and this 87 year old lady is the sole actress/act/director/resident of amargosa. she used to perform en point but now she only talks her show out loud and oance her performances start in the fall we're going to hear her because really, she's not going to be around much longer.

when we went to go see once or paris je t'aime
and wanting to see it.
i'll have to remember it now for sure;
they just looked the craziest couple!

Oooh, I just watched that documentary last month. It's so crazy when she's talking and they zoom in on her mug that says "#1 Lawyer" and you realize, "OMG, she's still with him!"

If you're into films about twisted love affairs, I highly recommend Savage Grace, in theaters now.

I watched Armagosa a long time ago and absolutely loved it !
My play "Jumping Cholla" * still unfinished, is inspired by Marta and the murders of Juarez.
Love love this lady !

hello- just wanted to introduce myself. I recently signed up for your lj blog, but ive been reading your work thru your main site.

Thanks for sharing this...I never heard of this story. I'm soo obsessed with couples who are almost destructive but at the same time in love....i guess a bad combo.
